In 2008, the Elkton Area Chamber of Commerce moved into the upstairs of the Civic Center on Main Street. This office serves as a meeting location, a general office, and a storage location for the Chamber. We're very proud of our new location, and encourage visitors to stop on in when the door is open. Current promotional material is always available at the office, as well as any merchandise currently for sale.
The village of Elkton was founded in 1886 by W. J. McGillivray, a blacksmith, who built the first house here. He named it to commemorate his killing a huge elk entangled in his wife's clothesline. Today the cozy community features a pleasant mix of local businesses and industry.
